Virtual Audition for Maya Animators

We are currently looking for volunteer maya animators to match-a-mate a CG body in a G suit, to actor Chuck Marra's HD blue screen performance.
This is a virtual audition for interested maya animators. Successful applicants will get to match-a-mate dozens of shots on this project, and will receive a film credit for work performed. You will also have permission to add the shots you worked on to your show reel/portfolio.
Thank you for your interest, and good luck!

Sincerely,
Jeroen Lapre'

  17. Use an image conversion tool to convert the saved quicktime movie file into a sequence of image files.

  18. e.g. on Mac OS X, I used GraphicConverter to convert the movie file to a sequence of images called:
    Scn17T2B.1960-2070.jpg

  19. Note: for linux version of maya, I found that it expected the frame number to be at the end of the filename.
    e.g. Scn17T2B.iff.1620-2070

  20. In the maya scene, select the camHD_Scn17T2B camera.

  21. In the attributes editor, go to Environment->Image Plane->

  22. Change the Image Name to point to the first file in the image sequence you converted.
    e.g. Scn17T2B.1960.jpg

  23. Make sure the maya time line is set from 1960 to 2070.

  24. Click in the 3d view to make it active, making sure you are viewing through camHD_Scn17T2B

  25. Try scrubbing inside the timeline through the whole range.

  26. You should see actor Chuck Marra lean forward and stand up.

  27. If this is what you see, then you are ready to match-a-mate the CG Cliff in G Suit maya model, to the actor's performance!

  28. Email your completed maya match-a-mation file as an attachment to:
    maelstrom2@distant-galaxy.com

  29. You will receive feedback on your match-a-mation audition a.s.a.p.
