| Commontology version 0.1 by Jeroen Lapré 11Oct2K7 An open source OWL Ontology of minimum number of concept Classes, Constraints, and Individuals, in order to be able to convey most human day-to-day interactions and intentions. Background Based on a failed patent application that was filed back in 2001: OBJECT-ORIENTED AND SEMANTICALLY-BASED UNIVERSAL MODELLING SOFTWARE FRAMEWORK Please note: One of the main reasons this app was rejected was because we proposed it as a framework, rather than a process. It took over three years to receive this office action from the Patent Office. Which as you know, is an enternity in the high tech and software developement communities. A previous business entity, Memelogic, around which this concept was formed, agreed to disband. Since Jeroen Lapre' is the owner of the IP, this Commontology is a an open source re-incarnation of this idea. You may notice that it anticipated some of the features of the Semantic Web. Abstract Model The Commontology includes abstact concepts such as Mathematics, Thought, Idea, etc. Physical Universe Model The Commontology includes a minimalist model of a Physical Temporal Universe within which physical things exist and interact. i.e. Physical Space (naive 3 Dimensions); Temporal concepts past / present / future & world slice; Physical Objects with Volume, Mass, Shape, Colour, Texture, etc. Agent Model The Commontology includes a minimalist Agent model. i.e. the concept of an entity that changes something it it's environment. Object Oriented Grammar The Commontology includes a restricted subset of a natural language model (in this case English) of Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives, and Adverbs, and their subclasses. Constraints and Logic rules between them define their relationships in an intuitive and self-documenting manner. Computable Pidgin Just as Pidgin was a means of two or more human groups that did not share a common language to communicate, this proposal is for a computable language between Humans and machines. Also Human<->Machine<->Human chains, such as semantic chat via the web, cell phones, etc. Linking between Abstract, Universe, and Agent Models and Natural Language Subset The Noun, Verb, Adjective and Adverb models link into the physical concepts in the Physical Universe Model, and the abstract Thought, Idea, and Mathematics concepts. This enables Agents to manipulate their environment through Verbs. Applications
